The Institute for Cancer Research Consultation

The life-science campus in Belmont
We would like to invite you to help shape the future of the life science campus in Belmont.
The Institute for Cancer Research, London, and The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust are worldclass
institutions, together ranked in the top four centres for cancer research and treatment globally.
Together with the London Borough of Sutton, and supported by the Greater London Authority, we have
developed a vision to become the world’s leading life-science district specialising in cancer diagnosis,
treatment, research, education and biotech production.
Our organisations have a long history here in Sutton and we hope that our continued growth and success
will help to make Sutton an even more attractive and vibrant place to work, live, learn, and socialise.
It is anticipated that the enhanced and expanded life-science campus will drive an increase in local jobs,
business and investment opportunities, as well as a greater choice of amenities and public transport
options, and will help improve the environment for existing and new residents.
The Institute for Cancer Research (ICR), The Royal Marsden and the London Borough of Sutton,
together with the Greater London Authority, are preparing a ‘Development Framework’, which will
coordinate future development of the area. It will translate the vision for the campus into a set of guiding
principles that will shape the scale of growth and change, land uses, and activities.
During September 2015, we are seeking your views on the area and your ideas on how the site should
change in the future. These discussions will focus on giving you input into the vision for the future of the
life-science campus and into the Development Framework.
We invite you to participate in the following consultation:
