How HR can help businesses meet the ongoing challenges of Brexit and COVID-19 in 2021 and beyond will be discussed in a free webinar hosted by the HR Dept next week.
The webinar will take place at 1am on Wednesday 3 March. You can sign up here.
As the implications of Brexit unfold and we continue to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s a good time to reflect upon how recent events have changed the way we work, the lessons we can learn and the potential impact on our businesses in 2021 and beyond.
There is no standard pandemic (or Brexit) experience. Some businesses have smoothly transitioned to home working, while others have either had to adapt to become COVID-19 secure or close completely. Similarly, some firms are significantly affected by Brexit and have to navigate new regulations and/or identify alternative income streams.
The impact of both events on employees has been massive. Some have enjoyed the flexibility of working from home and may never want to return to the office five days a week. Others have found homeworking difficult – especially juggling home schooling and caring responsibilities.
In this free webinar, the HR Dept will explore the HR implications of recent events and invite businesses to give further thought to how their post-Brexit/lockdown business might look, the HR areas to consider and the resources you will need.
Maria Kurek will lead attendees through:
· Using HR information as a planning and management tool
· Considering how home and flexible working can help and/or hinder your business
In the HR Dept’s employment law update, Helen Colechin will cover:
· What happens to UK employment law post Brexit?
· Checking your workforce has the right to work in the UK – what has changed and what do you need to do post Brexit?
· Relevant forthcoming legislation and cases we can learn from to protect our businesses
Fintan O’Toole will provide a Health & Safety update on relevant practical steps you need to consider as lockdown restrictions ease.
The webinar will finish with a Q&A session – where businesses can raise their HR or H&S queries.
