Counter Terrorism Business Security Advice

Note from Julian Hagley Chief Inspector Operations at Sutton Borough Police

Dear Sutton Business,

Re: Counter Terrorism Business Security Advice

I write as we approach the festive period and the additional footfall that this will bring to our shopping districts both during the day and at night. The tragic events in Paris last week demonstrate how vulnerable crowded places are and the impact that terrorism can have on our communities. In the fight against terrorism, we all have a role and responsibility to play to keep our communities safe.

We need to remain alert, not alarmed and keep staff briefed on what we expect of them. The threat to the UK remains at severe.

I thought I would take the opportunity to remind you of some simple tasks that you can take to help keep your customers and yourselves safe over this period. This document details some of the activity that you can undertake. Please take the time to read it and act upon the advice.

If you have any questions or would like further advice, please contact PC Emma Power, your local counter terrorist focus desk officer on – 0208 649 0504 or Emma.Power@Met.Police.UK

Yours sincerely,

Julian Hagley
Chief Inspector
Sutton Police Operations
