We have reached the halfway point in our five-year term as a business improvement district. To review our journey so far and how we are working towards our key pledges we have created a short video highlighting our achievements to date.
Successes include hosting more than 130 events and activities, including our award-winning programme of historic walks and the popular Christmas lights switch-on, removed 11,000 pieces of chewing gum from the town centre and collected and recycled 160 tonnes of waste.
Ross Feeney, chief executive of Successful Sutton, said: “We have made significant progress towards meeting our pledges and have scored a number of notable successes over the past two-and-a-half years.
“The road ahead is an exciting one. We will continue to build on our achievements and work with partners and businesses over the next two years to ensure the future growth and prosperity of Sutton town centre.”
Successful Sutton was established in October 2012 with the remit of funding projects, services and events to improve the town centre for the benefit of businesses, employees and visitors in four key areas:
– Increasing footfall and spend in the town centre
– Raising the town centre’s profile though marketing and events
– Ensuring the town centre remains safe and secure
– Delivering value for money for business levy payers
We continually review our priorities to ensure that the services we deliver meet the needs of businesses. If you have any ideas for future initiatives or feedback on the services we provide email Ross.Feeney@successfulsutton.co.uk
